Spring is a season o booming, and a challenge to boom your crochet skills. This project is an inquisitive journey into colour, opening up new ways of looking at, and thinking about, colour combinations. WALLFLOWERS is an exploration of six sided shapes, mirror repeats and the importance of tonal values in design. GLORIA continues the investigation into flower motifs and ‘join as you go’ techniques. The best thing to crochet square is to crochet any size you like with one pattern, or crochet as large as you want by joining each square together, same or mix! I have some crochet square free patterns that you may love to take a look and follow up to crochet your own. The blanket will consist of a centre of flower granny squares surrounded by several types of edges with different patterns and stitches. TESSELLATION NATION is a new crochet blanket course which will bring together many of these techniques and processes – with the additional option of designing your own composition. By incorporating the “join as you go” technique, each flower is seamlessly attached to the next as it’s crocheted, eliminating the need for later sewing of pieces together. The six-sided shape, often a hexagon, creates a dynamic flow and interlocking pattern that can evolve into a beautiful, harmonious throw. The exploration of these six-sided motifs allows for endless creativity, as different color combinations and stitch variations can be used within each individual flower to enhance the overall aesthetic. The result is a stunning, cohesive throw that brings warmth, style, and a touch of handmade artistry to any space.
