Mandala means circle in Sanskrit. I have shared a few mandala projects before, and if you love art, you will love to check out the article of How to Paint Mandala Pebble Rock Stones-Video. Whether you draw or crochet, there is a calming effect from the repeated motions in every round. These mandala dream catchers look really pretty outdoors and indoors too. Worked with a large crochet hook (9 or 10 mm) and worsted weight yarn – this causes the crochet work to be stretchy, which works great for inside of the hula hoop. From a cost perspective, the hula hoops are $1 at the dollar store. And you need less than 50 yards of 3 different colors of yarn. Uses up your scrap ends nicely. Quite cost effective! And if you know your basic crochet stitches (chain, single crochet, double crochet), you can work one of these up in an hour or less. Technically there are two types shown here (they are just variations on a theme though) – an easier one and a more difficult one.
